Gracie Oceania Jiu Jitsu Academy has invited Rafael "Gordinho" de Lima to be holding seminars on 22nd, 23rd and 24th October 2010 in Sydney at its headquarters.

With 25 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Gordinho won the 1998 Mundials World Championships in the Black Belt Division, 5 times National Champion of Brazil, runner-up in ADCC Brazil.
Before Evolve, Gordinho also trained, helped, and coached many professional MMA fighters in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) and the IFL (International Fight League) such as Renzo Gracie, Georges St Pierre, Roger Gracie, Rolles Gracie, Igor Gracie, Gregor Gracie, Renato Babalu Sobral, Andre Gusmao. Ricardo Almeida, Matt Serra and many others.   
Rafael has taught for many years in Brazil and the US.  He was the most senior Black Belt instructor and also the Program Director (after Renzo Gracie) at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York, which is the one of the world largest schools with over 1,200 students only in a single location.  

Ivo Santos is one of the best Judo players in Australia having won 2 National Championships and won multiple other tournaments. Like a lot of Judo players he is going to try his hand at MMA.

He was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1985 and moved to Australia in 1987. Ivo began Judo in 1991 and competed through the junior levels with a lot of success. He made his first Australian Senior Team in 2004 and won his first senior National Championship in 2007 and senior Oceania Championship in 2008. He narrowly missed selection for the Beijing Olympics, most recently Ivo won his 2nd National Championship and is now focused on London in 2010.

FILA held another tournament in Illawarra on the weekend which included Wrestling, Grappling and Pankration. The tournament was a huge success with a lot of entries in all divisions. They have created two highlight clips from the day, 1 for the Pankration and 1 for the Grappling.

One of the founding instructors of Idokan Australia and Bushido Instructors Association is "fighting for her life" against cancer.  Sensei Wendy Carroll is a well respected instructor in the martial art community.

Those that meet Wendy are always impressed with her enthusiasm for life.  Two years ago Wendy was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer with a 6cm tumour.  Wendy was told by her doctors that she should "put her affairs in order".  Refusing to be beaten Wendy had a mastectomy and underwent aggressive chemotherapy and radiotherapy.  To her doctors surprise she survived the ordeal.  Not only that but she reopened  her dojo in Warrandyte and went to an intensive two week Jujutsu seminar in Kyoto, Japan where she was examined for her 4th Dan Jujutsu by the Honbu members of the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai.
